The agency called for a screening interview. Then a TELUS rep called on the phone in for a brief interview. I was contact 5 months later for in-person interview with 3 people.... Then I was made an offer two weeks later.

Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Thu, 8 Mar 2018

Interviewed in Toronto, ON (took 90 days)
I've heard great things about working for Telus, so I was very excited about interviewing with them. After the first round of interviewing the role was put on hold. It happens. We picked back up after a few months and I was asked to prepare a deck about what I'd do to improve product sales. It seemed a bit suspect that I was asked to do work for free that since I hadn't been hired. But I spent about 10 hours on the deck and case and presented it. Then silence. After about two weeks I had to reach out to Telus only to hear that the job had been put on hold AGAIN. Two red flags for me. They got free ideas and implementation plans, and they are posting positions when they don't seem to have a clear direction in mind. It was enough to make me lose interest. And I also thought about billing them for the free consulting they managed to get out of me.

A quick phone call lead to an in person interview. There weren't any technical questions asked, just questions about what you could do. This included a sit down with a PM and eventually the floor manager. They ultimately wanted more experience than I had.

I was taking pretty long with 3 sections with different manager. 20 mins for watching a video with every candidate. Then small group for an interview to answer some questions and allow to ask some questions. I was confused to learn about their game with based on 100% commission.

Basic behavioural questions. They want to know you are communicative and are patient with clients/can multitask and sell their benefits. I first had a phone interview. Then 2 1-on-1 interviews with 2 different managers, both asked basic sales interview questions that I listed below. Overall, pretty easy just be confident and smile :D.

Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Mon, 7 May 2018

The interview process was a big indication about how little people in the organization understood the position. It was a very informal process done mostly over video conferencing. People were friendly and nice, but I was asked what my favourite pet and coffee was and nothing really about my abilities for the role. A lot of jargon was used without much context.

Initially applied for the position about a month before I was contacted. Once Contacted I was given a 90 minute technical test via email. Technical test included sections on SQL, Java, JavaScript and XML. This was followed up with an in person interview

The interview process is a 4 stage process. It starts with a telephone screening interview followed by a face to face interview with the hiring manager. If they like what they see, they call you for a presentation which includes presenting to a team with a project they gave you to work on for a week. I have managed to get up to the presentation step, two times in a row but was not a successful Candidate
